The Story: This original acrylic painting is a visceral response to the ethereal beauty of the Blue Lagoon, captured during my travels to Iceland in November 2024. The work centers on the stark, poetic contrast between the luminous, milky-blue waters and the ancient, jagged lava fields that surround them.

To bring the volcanic earth to life, I used a heavy texture across the right side of the composition, creating a rugged, three-dimensional surface that mimics the porous, craggy nature of the lava rock. This tactile element stands in quiet opposition to the smooth, almost glowing expanse of the geothermal water. It is a piece that seeks to capture the unique energy of Iceland—a place where fire and ice, grit and serenity, exist in perfect, breathtaking harmony.
